16. Account Deletion
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your Cloud Rescue Foundation account at any time:
- Open the Cloud Rescue app
- Go to your Profile screen
- Scroll down and tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm the deletion
Note: You cannot delete your account if you have active sponsorships. Please cancel or complete all active sponsorships before deleting your account.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account
Data That Is Deleted:
- Your phone number and contact information
- Your name and profile image
- All conversations and chat messages
- Favorite shelters list
Data That Is Kept (Anonymized):
- Sponsorship records: Historical sponsorship data is kept for audit and financial record-keeping purposes, but all personally identifiable information is removed
- Transaction records: Financial transaction records are preserved for accounting and tax purposes, but are anonymized
- Account identifier: A record of your account ID is kept to maintain data integrity, but it cannot be linked to you
Data Retention Period
Anonymized data (sponsorship records, transaction records) is retained indefinitely for audit, accounting, and legal compliance purposes. However, all personally identifiable information is permanently deleted immediately upon account deletion.
Alternative: Email Request
